Context & Mission

The Digital unit is one of the 7 units (Digital, Field Communication, Media/Events, Production, Philanthropy, Acquisition and Loyalty) of the Communication and Fundraising Department

The Digital Marketing Officer is part of a team of seven people who run the digital communications and fundraising activities for MSF Switzerland. She/he is responsible for establishing the online marketing goals and yearly planning and run the planned activities.

Digital Marketing Officer

Main tasks

The Digital Marketing Officer is responsible for MSF Switzerland’s presence on German speaking social media with a focus on Facebook, YouTube, Instagram and Twitter. This include managing the community and the promotion while aiming at reinforcing and developing the online presence of MSF Switzerland.


She/he is responsible for running and operating MSF Newsletters, as well as analyse them and report on improvements to implement.


She/he conducts digital marketing projects and campaigns (SEO/SEM), monitors digital statistics, adapt digital content and produces reporting. She/he proposes activities to improve the qualitative and quantitative performance of the online presence of MSF Switzerland.


She/he is a support for the online communication and online fundraising aspects of MSF Switzerland. Upon request of the Head of the Digital unit, he/she can take up any specific project or campaign related to the digital activity. She/he acts as a backup with the other digital marketing officer.



  • University Degree or equivalent experience in Marketing/Digital Marketing or Communications.


  • 2 years of experiences working in digital marketing and/or communications, preferably in the non-profit environment
  • Demonstrable track record of success in experience

Technical competencies

  • Profound understanding of social media (including community management)
  • Proficient with emailing management
  • Very strong knowledge of digital analysis in general and of Google Analytics (certifications is a plus)
  • Solid knowledge of SEO/SEM (AdWords certifications is a plus)
  • Excellent understanding of principles of online advertising,
  • Project management, ability to work with a multidisciplinary team, especially for online projects (graphic editors, writers, programmers, agencies, database supplier, etc.), very comfortable working with multimedia, especially images and video
  • Good understanding of major digital technologies


  • Native German speaker mandatory
  • Fluent in English and/or French, or at least a working knowledge

Terms of Employement

  • Open-ended contract, 80%
  • Located in Geneva or in Zurich with frequent travels in Geneva (first few weeks could be in Geneva)
  • Ideal starting date : May 2019
  • Gross annual salary : from CHF 83’808.- to 96’492.- (salary commensurate with experience and internal salary grid)
